Electric Championship

Official WKA and BSR Electric Kart Series 2025

Overview

Welcome to the American Electric Karting League
Get ready for the future of karting. The WKA and Blue Shock Race (BSR) are proud to launch the first official Electric Kart Championship series in the U.S., uniting technology, performance, and talent development under one electrifying platform.

After a successful demo season in 2024 with three high-energy exhibition races featuring the BSR-X4 class, we’re now going all in for 2025—with 8 championship rounds across the country. Drivers from all over the U.S. (and beyond!) are invited to take part in this revolutionary racing movement.

This is still a new technology—but the performance, energy, and emotional response from racers and fans speak for themselves. This is the next generation of motorsports.

About the League
The 2025 Electric Kart Championship will consist of 8 race weekends. Drivers will score points at each round, with only their top 5 results counting toward the final championship tally. The series will conclude with a Grand Finale at the iconic Daytona International Speedway in Florida.

We welcome racers from the age of 10 and up to compete in two weight-based classes using the BSR-X4 electric race kart:

  • Light Class: Under 400 lbs (kart + driver)
  • Heavy Class: Over 400 lbs (kart + driver)

Both classes race on track together, but points are tallied separately. Class champions win international-level prizes:

  • Heavies compete for a Porsche Experience in Europe.
  • Lights race for the NXT Gen prize—an exclusive high-performance car experience abroad.

Why Choose Electric?
While there are many racing classes in the U.S., few truly open doors to the global motorsport stage or focus on helping drivers build a sustainable personal brand.

The American Electric Karting League is all about innovation. With instant torque, precision control, and silent power, electric karting allows drivers to develop elite-level skills with world-class technology.

It’s not just about speed—it’s about building a future in motorsports. Through the BSR ecosystem, drivers also receive support in developing their personal brand, learning how to attract sponsors, promote themselves on social media, and build a career as a self-sustaining athlete—not just hoping to be chosen, but creating their own opportunities.

Driver Requirements & Safety First
WKA and BSR maintain the highest standards of safety across the series. All participants are expected to respect the discipline of motorsport and comply with all WKA/BSR rules and regulations.

Drivers must:

  • Use certified safety gear (helmet, suit, gloves, shoes)
  • Understand the high performance of electric karts and act responsibly
  • Accept and manage racing risks with maturity

All karts are FIA safety-certified (chassis), with CE and other certifications for the power units. Insurance is provided to all participants, but racing is not without risk—we race hard, but we race smart.

Overview

The American E-Kart Championship (AEKC) powered by Monster Energy is an annual, nationwide, all electric go kart racing series. Racers compete against each other in evenly matched electric go karts that are provided by the track that they are competing at. Drivers can enter qualifying rounds at tracks all across the country with the Grand Championship weekend which happens every year.

The total purse of the series is over $40,000, with the Grand Champion each year receiving a $10,000 cash prize. Officially sanctioned by the World Karting Association (WKA), the series offers practically anyone the opportunity to be a champion racer.
